We built this app so that it does not need to know anything about you. There is no account. Your constitution, your plans, your practice history and your preferences are stored on your device and are not transmitted to us. We do not use advertising, we do not run analytics or tracking software, and we do not sell or share personal information. The sections below say the same thing with the precision the law requires.
1. Who we are
Ayurveda & Asana Yoga ("we", "us") provides the Ayurveda & Asana Yoga mobile application and this website. For the purposes of the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation, we are the data controller for the limited personal data described in this policy.

2. The short version
| Category | Do we collect it? |
|---|---|
| Name, email address, phone number | No |
| Account credentials | No — there is no account |
| Precise or coarse location | No |
| Contacts, photos, microphone, camera | No |
| Health or fitness data from HealthKit | No |
| Advertising or tracking identifiers | No |
| Analytics on how you use the app | No |
| Your meal plans and practice history | Stored on your device only |
| IP address, when streaming media | Processed by our media provider to deliver the file |
| Purchase records | Held by Apple, not by us |
3. No account, no profile
The app does not ask you to register, does not issue you a user identifier, and does not maintain a profile about you on any server we control. Because there is no account, there is nothing for you to log in to and nothing for us to link your activity to.
One consequence is worth stating plainly: if you delete the app or reset your device, the information held on it goes with it. We cannot restore it, because we never had a copy.
4. What stays on your device
The following are created and stored locally, in the app's own storage area:
- Your constitutional assessment and any answers you gave to reach it
- Generated meal plans, saved recipes and any adjustments you make to them
- Practice history, saved sequences and favourited postures
- Settings such as measurement units, reminders, and audio preferences
This information is not transmitted to us. If your device has iCloud backup enabled, Apple may include the app's data in your encrypted device backup under Apple's own terms; that backup is between you and Apple, and we have no access to it.
5. What is processed when you go online
The library, the illustrations and the planning logic ship inside the app and work without a connection. Some media is streamed rather than bundled, because including it would make the download unreasonably large. When your device requests one of those files, the following happens.
Content delivery
Video and audio are served through a third-party content delivery network. To send you a file, that provider necessarily receives your device's IP address, the file requested, the time of the request, and standard technical information such as your device type and operating system version. This is processing carried out by the provider under its own privacy terms, and it is inherent in how the internet delivers a file — it is not a profile we build or receive.
Where video is embedded from a third-party platform — for example an embedded player — that platform may set cookies and may associate the playback with an account you are signed in to on your device, under its own privacy policy rather than ours. Where we use such a player we do so in the most privacy-protective mode the platform offers, and we identify the provider in the app at the point of playback.
Website
This website sets no cookies, embeds no analytics, and loads its fonts from its own server rather than a third party. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
6. Purchases and subscriptions
Any purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment card, your billing address or your Apple Account details. Apple tells us only whether an entitlement is active. Apple's handling of that transaction is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.
7. Crash reports and diagnostics
We do not embed a third-party crash reporting or analytics SDK. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, non-identifying crash and energy reports. That sharing is controlled entirely by you, in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, and can be switched off there at any time.
8. Health and wellness information
Information you enter about your constitution, digestion, diet or practice is sensitive by nature, which is why it is kept on your device and not collected by us. The app does not read from or write to Apple HealthKit.
The app provides general wellness information drawn from classical Ayurvedic sources. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, it is not a medical device, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified clinician who knows your history.
9. Legal bases for processing
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — delivering media you have asked the app to play, and providing the app itself.
- Legitimate interests — keeping our systems secure and diagnosing faults, balanced against your interests and limited to technical data.
- Consent — where you have separately opted in to something, such as Apple's analytics sharing. You may withdraw consent at any time.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to request access to your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to complain to a supervisory authority.
In practice, because the app holds your information on your device and not on our servers, you can exercise most of these rights directly: the data is already in your possession, and deleting the app deletes it. Where we do hold something relating to you — for example correspondence you have sent us — write to privacy@ayurveda-asana.app and we will respond within one month.
If you are in the EEA or the UK and you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first, but you are not required to.
11. California privacy rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, California residents have rights to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted without an opt-out. You will not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
12. Children
The app is not directed to children and is not designed for them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Yoga practice and dietary change in children should be supervised by a parent or guardian and, where relevant, a paediatrician.
13. International transfers
Our hosting and content delivery providers operate globally, so a request for a media file may be served from, and logged in, a country other than yours. Where such a transfer involves personal data leaving the UK or EEA, it takes place under the safeguards permitted by law, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum where applicable.
14. Retention
- On-device data — kept until you delete it or delete the app.
- Server and delivery logs — retained for a short period for security and diagnostics, then deleted or aggregated.
- Correspondence — kept for as long as needed to resolve your query and to keep a record of it, then deleted.
15. Security
Data stored by the app benefits from the file protection and sandboxing provided by iOS. Traffic between the app and our providers uses TLS. No system is perfectly secure, but the strongest protection here is architectural: the less we collect, the less there is to lose.
16. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above and, where the change is material, tell you inside the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
